Accra , March 17, Ghana -The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, ended the week on a weaker note.
It lost 2.69 points to 1,032.99 points down from 1,035.68 points on Thursday with a year-to-date return of 6.60 per cent.
The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also fell by 7.52 points to 892.19 points from 899.71 points with a year-to-date change of 3.37 per cent.
The session saw four positive price changes and two losses.
Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited rose GH¢0.06 to GH¢1.66, Produce Buying Company gained GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.25, Ghana Commercial Bank was up GH¢0.02 to GH¢1.85 and UT Bank added GH¢0.02 to GH¢0.32.
On the flip side, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated lost GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.10 and Tullow Oil fell GH¢1.34 to GH¢33.16.
Market Capitalization closed lower at GH¢49,637.86 million from GH¢50,944.23 million.
A total of 438,171 shares worth GH¢481,927.90 changed hands during the session.
