With barely eight months to the general elections, the ruling NDC and the opposition NPP appear to have already begun the serious business of convincing Ghanaians for votes.

The two are busy trumpeting their respective records.

The NDC's electioneering machine on Wednesday activated its 'Setting the Records Straight' at a press conference and praised President Mills for 'unprecedented levels” of economic success and improving the living standards of Ghanaians.

The group sanctioned by the government and the party accused the opposition NPP of wanton and reckless dissipation of state resources during the eight year rule of former President Kufuor.

Deputy Minister of Finance Fifi Kwetey led the onslaught in a message he entitled “From Crisis to Hope-The Mills Economic Story”.

He spoke about stability of the Cedi, attainment of single digit inflation among others.

Mr. Kwetey later told Joy News in an interview that today's exercise is the first of many to come as the country heads into the elections.
