
Tarkwa, Feb. 28, GNA- A Tarkwa circuit court has fined a 32 year-old driver to a sum of 720.00 Ghana cedis for driving without due care and attention.
He pleaded guilty.
Chief Inspector Edward Paddy, Prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that on October 16, around 9:00am, the accused was driving a Kia Truck with registration number WR 2983-11 from Tarkwa towards Atuabo in the Western Region.
He said on reaching Ackah junction on the main Tarkwa-Bogoso junction road, he knocked down a 3 year-old girl who was then crossing the road.
The victim who sustained serious injury was rushed to the ABA hospital at Tarkwa but she died shortly on arrival from head injuries.
