A thrilling banter between theatrical Braimah Kamoko, alias 'Bukom Banku', and his Ugandan challenger Hamza Wandera Thursday at the Media Centre of the Accra Stadium portend what is to come Saturday in Accra.

At a press conference to outdoor the fighters for tomorrow’s “Moment of Truth” bill organised by Golden Mike Promotions, the two boxers on the main card for the night exchanged words which nearly turned into fisticuffs but for the intervention of Master of

Ceremonies, Mohammed Amin Lamptey, and other members at the high table.

The Sweden-based Ugandan fighter expressed disgust at Banku’s seeming rhetorics and mocked that since banku is his favourite food, come Saturday he would eat the Bukom based boxer up.

”I like banku very much anytime I come to Ghana and I will eat banku my favourite food on Saturday”, he boasted.

Wandera went to brag that he would be the first fighter to dethrone the undefeated Bukom Banku whose record stands at 22 wins with 15 knockouts. Wandera stated that he was a man of few words but many actions and would provide the answer to Banku’s cacophony tomorrow.

But the James Town warrior rebutted quickly in his humorous self as he told a packed audience that “you chop banku, you go vomit, you chop banku I go make you vomit and swallow a bigger one”, he boldly declared.

Banku noted that he was well psyched up for the bout and swore by hitting a large table in front of him that he would “kill” his oppenent come Saturday.

The media briefing also witnessed the outdooring of Joshua Okine, alias Bukom Tsatsu, and his Argentine opponent for the Interim WBO Africa welterweight title, Amilcar Funes; Emmanuel Tagoe and Nicaraguan Santos Benavides for the IBF Inter-Continental super-featherweight title and Samuel Amoako and Martin Haikali for the WBO Africa lightweight title.

Also outdoored were Ebenezer Lamptey and Eduado Flores of Ecuador who will battle for the WBO Africa super-lightweight title, Ismael Aryeetey against Hope Mawuli for the national featherweight title and Isaac Nettey against Joshua Barnor in a final eliminator for the national super-bantamweight title.

Michael Tetteh of Golden Mike Promotions appealed to stakeholders and corporate Ghana to come to the aid of the sport and help develop and sustain the spirit of one sport that has given Ghana so much.

He expressed gratitude to sponsors Savista Frozen Food and BigFoot Construction Company for their support.

A speech read on behalf of promoter-general, Henry Manly-Spain, by the Secretary General of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Robert Odarkwei Lamptey Junior, announced the staging of a world title fight for former world champion, Joseph Agbeko, in May at the Accra Stadium which would be under the auspices of Golden Concept Management International.

The vice-president of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Jonas Ahene Truely, pledged his outfit’s support towards the event to ensure that it goes on without any hiccups.
