This Year's second Edition of the Ecowas Cycling Tour has finally ended in a dramatic fashion with Burkina Faso's Rasmane Ouedrago being decorated with the prestigious yellow jersey signifying his best in time build up and further powering his cohesive Team to the first position with a whooping prize lump sum tag of over 18,000 dollars out of the total prize money of 21,405 dollars at stake.
The Swiss based sprinter maintained the Yellow Jersey in the second stage with some astonishing pedal control with quality sprinting antics in the second stage in a time of 2hrs.57secs.02 over a windy distance of 113km from Sogakope through Ada to the Tema Motorway Roundabout. Fellow compatriots Bikienga Salfo and Minougou Oumarou were also at their dry best sweeping along the green jersey and the red jersey signifying the Best by Points and Combativity respectively. Close but fragile opposition came from pedal rivals la cote d,ivoire especially witty and aggressive baby face assassin Bassirou Konte who is gradually registering himself as a budding treat to the Burkinabes.
Team Ghana comprised Henry Tetteh Djangmah of die hard, Isaac Odonkor of All Stars, Nuru Pardie of die hard and Samuel Anim of All Stars. It was a well fitted quartet who really raised up high the flag of Ghana unto the 4th position pocketing a cool 1,500 dollars with sufficient sweat. Ghana's closest point accumulation came from in-form Henry Tetteh Djangmah in the Ghana stage where he placed 5th out of the 77 battling cyclists in a bullish bunch finish to the admiration of the gathered crowd.
