Savelgu, (N/R), Feb. 22, GNA – Mr. Abdul Mohammed Somed Gunu, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Savelgu Constituency in the Northern Region has tour the constituency to listen to the plight of the constituents.

The tour which will take him through the whole constituency had so far visited Moglaa, Tarikpaa, Yilikpani, Yiziegu, Bihi Naayili and Zaazi.

Other communities also visited were Libga, Nyoglo, Kansheigu, Duko, Bunglung and Tumahi.

He said the Savelgu Constituency had seen no development for several years now and called on the electorates of the constituency to vote for change and someone who could uplift their plight in the upcoming December election.

Mr Somed Gunu however expresses the lack of social amenities in the constituency and called on the electorates to vote for change in the upcoming December elections.

He added that social amenities such as Water, Electricity, Health Facilities and proper access roads network were lacking in some communities that were a mile or 2 miles from the District Capital, adding, “poles which was mounted in many communities during the NPP regime had still not been connected to the National Grid.”

“I am wondering why those communities are been neglected, asking, whether those communities are not part of Ghana.”

Addressing the communities, Mr Somed Gunu noted that the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Savelgu constituency for several years had done nothing to improve the living standards of the people.

“For 16 years now, the MP for the Constituency has not brought any significant into the lives of the people. We constituency is always backwards, not even portable drinking water, so let us vote for a competent person to solve our problems now.”

Mr Somed Gunu assured them of his readiness to address the development challenges the constituency and their communities were facing when giving the nod to represent the constituency in the legislature.

He Challenge the Authorities in control especially the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency to comes out and explain to the people why the area were lacking those social amenities.

“Irrigation Dams which were to constructed at Libga and Bunglung under the Millenium Development Authority (MIDA) and Young Areas Water Extension Systems (YAWES) have been cut off.”

Mr Somed Gunu call on the electorate to vote for people who have them at heart and committed to deliver development projects to their communities to get them out of abject poverty, disease and hunger and guarantee sustainable livelihoods for them and their children.

Been noted in rural communities development programs in the District with a huge profile in development projects initiated by him in the area for the past 20 years is a testimony, “I have the people at heart” , as being described by the people, he added.

Mr Somed Gunu explained the biometric registration process to the people and urge them all to come out in their numbers to register to enable them exercise their franchise come December general election.

He also dispelled the lairs paddle's around that ; biometric registration courses cancer .
