Agona West NCCE starts biometric voter registration education

Agona Swedru, Feb 23, GNA - The Agona West Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has started an education campaign on the biometric voter registration exercise, Mr Kwame Acquah, Municipal Director of NCCE, told the GNA on Wednesday.

He said the Commission had already visited Agona Swedru Central Mosque to educate Muslims on the importance of the voter registration exercise.

Mr Acquah said “as a first step when you go to the registration centre your biography details would be demanded by Electoral Commission (EC) and mentioned names, date of birth, home town, and nationality as some of questions that would be asked.

He said the information would be entered into the computer, then their biometric data such as facial features and finger prints would be requested by EC to enable it process them.

Mr Acquah cautioned children under age and foreigners to desist from getting involved in the upcoming exercise to avoid being arrested and prosecuted.
