Zebilla (U/E) Jan. 31 GNA – Mrs Catherine Nbun Apanga, Head Mistress of the Zebilla Senior High Technical School, has called on heads of second cycle institutions to operate open door administration to all.

Mrs Nbun-Apanga said the open door administration style creates a platform that would involve all to participate effectively in the administrative process and allow members of staff to contribute in running the institutions.

She said it would also promote transparency and accountability and discourage unnecessary criticism which may intimidate and jeopardized the interest of the institution.

She said this during an interview with the GNA at Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.

She said most Heads of Senior High Institutions did not make use of the system and that could create division among the administrative staff and the teaching staff and even incite the teaching staff against the head.

Mrs Nbun Apanga said the free flow of communication between the head and staff was another step that could foster a conducive relationship in the institution.

She commended government for its effort at providing infrastructure and other teaching and learning materials for the promotion of quality education in the institutions adding that in her school teacher accommodation was a major challenge as the school had only twelve bungalows against the fifty eight teaching and non teaching staff.

Mrs Nbun Apanga commended the Development for Senior High School Educational Project (DSSEP “3”) for supporting the school with some educational logistics and called on government and developmental partners to help fence the school.
