Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome is in court over EOCO's handling of investigations ordered by President Mills into the controversial 58 million cedi payment to him by the state.

His lawyers this afternoon filed two writs, first, questioning the mandate of the Economic and Organised Crimes Office to investigate the matter.

Their case is that EOCO cannot investigate the judgment of a court.

They are consequently seeking an injunction to stop EOCO from continuing with the investigations.

The lawyers are also challenging EOCO's action to freeze Mr. Woyome's bank accounts.

Checks by Joy News indicate that EOCO has not been served with the summons yet.
