We Are Prepared For Woyome

Nana Obiri Boahen, counsel for the Assin North Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, says he is fully armed with empirical evidence to face beleaguered financier of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alfred Woyome, who has dragged his client to the court in a multi-cedi landmark defamation suit.

According to Nana Obiri Boahen, his client has not been served with the writ of summons after several days of media reports about the said suit.

Mr Woyome is reported to have filed a GH¢1m defamation suit against the Assin North MP for defaming his character after the MP accused him of defrauding the state.

However, no writ of summons has been served on the man at the centre of the allegation after several days, thereby raising questions as to whether the said suit had indeed been filed.

Speaking on Hot FM's Maakye Morning Show last Wednesday,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Nana Obiri Boahen said his client has got a very strong case and he will prove the allegations in court to show Ghanaians how the NDC financier really duped the state of that whopping amount.

He challenged Mr Woyome to carry out his threat of dragging the MP to court, stressing that they will prove to him that he defrauded the state.
