NDC-NY ENDORSES HON. DR. MUSTAPHA AHMED FOR AYAWASO EAST CONSTITUENCY

The members and leadership of the New York Branch of the National Democratic Congress wish to endorse the candidature of Dr. Mustapha Ahmed, the current Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East Wougon Constituency. The NDC New York recognizes and is appreciative of the untiring efforts, Dr. Ahmed has exerted in bringing socio-economic development to the constituency. It is our sincere belief, that Dr. Mustapha Ahmed is a young man who has emboldened the spirit of service in the youth of Ayawaso East. His commitment to socio-economic development continues to shape the history of Ayawaso East in particular and Ghana as a whole.

The indelible legacy of his service to Ghana can be seen through his long decades of service in various capacities, even before he was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso East Constituency. As a renowned dental surgeon, he served with distinction in the Armed Forces of Ghana, and as a constituent, he has been behind several developments in the constituency. Dr. Mustapha Ahmed's private dental clinic, which is in the constituency, renders services at free or low cost to members of the constituency. Dr. Mustapha Ahmed's unwavering commitment to the plight of his constituents, especially students, is well known. The NDC New York recognizes his unsung but genuine support to improving the quality of education in this constituency.

We recognize his support, which has touched every school in the constituency from the Kanda cluster of schools, the Nima cluster of schools, the Institute of Islamic Studies Al-walleed Compound, to the Mount Zion School. His generous financial contributions to these institutions remain a source of support that continues to support and strengthen these organizations.

According to reports received from these schools, his recent donation of educational items worth over GHC 2,500 is among the most generous donations these schools have ever had.

As a Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, the quality of water has been improved with the provision of numerous boreholes through out the constituency. The provision of pipe borne water has also seen significant improvement in Ayawaso East.

In view of these achievements, efforts and other credible leadership qualities exhibited by Hon. Dr. Mustapha Ahmed, we the members of NDC-NY, as well as our sub-branch the Zongo Caucus, can no longer show indifference to his quest for a third term in the Ghanaian parliament.

The NDC New York Branch therefore throws its weight behind the candidature of Dr. Mustapha Ahmed. NDC New York pledges to be supportive of the parliamentarian's campaign efforts throughout this election cycle. The NDC New York Branch wishes to appeal to and encourage constituency delegates; and all stakeholders, to fully support the candidature of the Hon. Dr. Alh. Mustapha Ahmed.
