KATH TRAINEE NURSES EXPRESS GRATITUDE FOR ALLOWANCE HIKES

The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital branch of the Tertiary Educations Institutions Network (TEIN) of the NDC is congratulating President John Evans Atta Mills on his implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure as well as the successful migration of trainee nurses, community trainee nurses and midwifery students onto the salary structure.

The President of TEIN-KATH, Mumuni Believer Likpalimor, who communicated this message through a press statement also added that the allowance of trainees have been increased by about 700%, adding that it is the first of its kind since the Gold Coast era.

He encouraged beneficiaries of such positive salary and allowance adjustments to come out and openly appreciate the government for its practicality and consideration of the plight of the people.

In the same statement, the President of TEIN-KATH extended a firm warning to political opponents who sought cheap political points through the circulation of falsehoods about the President and his government to desist from such acts.

He said some of these detractors are trying to incite students against the government saying that government has a hand in the mass failure of students during the final licensing examinations.

“They should remember that, it is the nurses and midwives council that conduct the examination and misconceptions pertaining to the conduction, passes and failures should be channeled to the council”, he said.

Mr. Likpalimor also advocated a strong link between theory and practical to enable the nurses gain the required skills in order to save lives.
