AFRICA ARISE FROM YOUR SLUMBER !!

We were awoken a couple of weeks ago to a fiat issued by UK Prime Minister David Cameron which minced no words in spelling out that African governments recognize gay rights or expect no future aids from the UK government.

This decree, most obviously, was necessitated by an earlier incident in Kenya where gays were arrested by police, publicly ridiculed and kept behind bars for practicing what the Kenyan culture (like all African cultures) considers alien and abominable. The choice between aid and cultural value cannot be any easier to make as African governments hungrily wait on these aids from the West to balance their budgets and to do good their electoral promise if they really intend staying in office for long.

So, for Cameron to link gay rights to aid was a most cleverly-woven web of landmines, even the most calculated step taken will be met with undesirable consequences that could last a whole generation.

To aggravate the state of confusion, we read of a deadly punch by U.S President Barack Obama just last week where he gives voice to what Cameron has said earlier- African States recognize gay rights or cease dreaming of aid from the U.S.

Today, we awake to another story carried on http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2075205/Speak-Christianity-Cameron-tells-Archbishop-PM-calls-Church-defend-values-moral-code-Bible.html.

Here, we see and hear same Cameron telling the Archbishop of Canterbury to stand up and defend Christian values which he avers is what has made Britain as developed as it is today. Cameron clearly recognizes the multiplicity of rights that have sprung up in recent times which make it nearly impossible to call one act 'right' and another 'wrong' and reminds the Archbishop to stick to what the Bible says of the 'good' and 'wrong' and to proclaim, defend and push same beliefs throughout Britain as a way of guaranteeing UK's future.

Now comes the questions? Why would Cameron demand of the Archbishop and all in UK to recognize Christian values as that of UK but will not allow African States to do same?

Could there be an unknown motive why the West will stampede Africa's choice in tying their decision to recognition of gay rights?

It is clear. Indeed it needs no emphasis that the UK is witnessing many setbacks to its development due in whole to the liberal and culture-neutral posture it has practiced years gone by and wish to do a good job at retracing its roots.

So, running a country with a liberal ideology where all manner of rights surface and compete for state endorsement is obviously a bad pill to swallow; a poison.

If so, why then would Cameron and Obama compel African States to swallow same bad pill that they are trying to cough out their throats?

Is it the case that the West has identified Africa's strength and seeks to destroy it in pushing for an 'anything goes' society? It most likely will be the case.

For how could a well-meaning person tie his fellow man's meal to consent to plant a time-bomb behind the backyard?

We say modern slavery is extant? No, it is not. It is alive, it is thriving and it is bigger than ever before only manifesting in shapes and forms which to the ordinary onlooker will be difficult to detect as one. Slavery is not merely evidenced in tying a person or people to the neck, wrist or ankle with chains. It is characterized by one's loss of inalienable human rights and observed in every human relationship where one party's life choices and outcome are significantly or wholly determined by another. It is a condition where one lives (either by compulsion or choice) to satisfy the needs and every beck and call of another.

The West (UK and U.S) is neo-colonializing Africa and are doing so in very subtle ways that they think the African will be dull to detect. The African is now cleverer than the West thought. Cameron and Obama beware!

Africa Arise!

Arise from you slumber!!

Arise!!!
