Akumasa Domase (B/A), June 30, GNA- Nana Abena Agyeiwaa, Atufourhemaa of Akumsa-Domase, near Nkoranza in Brong Ahafo has advised teenage girls to desist from patronizing drinking bars as the practice could lead to defilement some unscrupulous men.
Speaking to Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Akumsa-Domase, Nana Agyeiwaa deplored the practice by some girls to follow men for alcoholic drinks and attributed the increasing number of rape and defilement cases to demands by some girls for gifts from men.
She advised schoolgirls to take their education seriously for them to obtain gainful employment and guard against pre-marital sex as they could contract HIV/AIDS.
Parents should support and show interest in the education of their daughters, she said.
The Queenmother noted that most schoolgirls become pregnant and drop out of school, just because their parents neglected them.
