Accra, Dec. 3, GNA – The Soul Food Ministries International (SFMI) has trained 600 youth in Information Computer Technology (ICT), under its “Free for all ICT training programme”.

Pastor Eddie Letsa, General Overseer of SFMI, said the training was to provide free ICT education for the youth as a means of rendering them employable skills in information technology.

He said the number adds up to the one thousand, one hundred and fifty beneficiaries trained this year.

Pastor Letsa told the GNA in Accra on Saturday that management of the church will be introducing a free training in artisanship for those who may not be interested in the ICT programme.

“SFMI provides training as a way of empowering and providing skills to support people's lives,” he added.

He said the training was not being conducted for only members of the church but also the general public could take advantage to impact on their lives.

He expressed the hope that with the introduction of these programmes, the youth would become morally upright to curb the negative social vices in the society and the nation at large.

Pastor Letsa said the training programme started in 2009 and has seen students graduating in courses including Computer Hardware, Computer Networking, and Cisco Certified Network Administration among others.

He called on philanthropists, stakeholders in the ICT development and government to support the initiative to help make the leaders and responsible citizens out of the youth.

The pastor adviced drivers to drive safely through the festive season to avoid any fatalities while urging them to seek knowledge on road safety tips to help them in their driving.

Mr Silas Agyepong Prprah, a graduate of the program thanked management of the project for the opportunity to develop themselves to contribute significantly to national development.
