Agona Nsaba, (C/R), Nov. 30, GNA - Preparations are almost complete at Agona Nsaba for the smooth take of this year's farmers day celebration where some hard working farmers, fishermen and would be awarded on Friday, December 2.
Mr Richard Marcus Odame, Member of the Planning Committee and Agona East District Director of Food and Agriculture made this known to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agona Nsaba.
The erection of Presidential dais and hosting of banners at the Nsaba Presbyterian Primary school Park is almost completed.
“All is set for the Friday's big event at Nsaba to be attended by President John Evans Atta Mills, Ministers of State, Members of the Council of State, Directors of Food and Agriculture, Municipal and District Chief Executives and chiefs are expected at the function, which has been declared a public holiday.
Mr Odame said 65 wooden boxes to be used by award winners for exhibition of their products would be provided.
Mr Aduoni Gyabaah, Chairman of the District Publicity Committee told GNA that enough awareness has been created about the event.
Mr Morgan Acquah, Agona West Municipal Co-ordinator of Zoomlion Company, a sanitation management company, said 50 people have been made available to beef up sanitation at the Nsaba township during the programme.
He said four big refuse containers would be placed at the durbar grounds to contain the volume of refuse that would be generated on Friday.
Mr Christian Ocran, Deputy District Co-ordinator of Zoomlion, said sanitation guards from Agona Swedru would be deplored to the town to educate the people about sanitation management.
