Yendi Municipal Security Council warns persons undermining peace

Yendi (NR) Nov. 06, GNA -It has come to the attention of the Yendi Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) that there are attempts by some unscrupulous people to undermine the relative peace in the area.

MUSEC said it had information that some individuals were visiting communities in and around Yendi informing people that members of the Andani and Abudu Royal Families, had armed themselves and were about to fight each other and asking them to also prepare.

A statement issued by MUSEC and signed by its Chairman Mr. Issah Zakaria, who is also the Municipal Chief Executive, said these same persons were spreading falsehood that Konkombas had piled arms and were about to attack Dagombas in Yendi so Konkombas living in Yendi should leave the Municipality for their own safety.

It stated that MUSEC wished to remind those behind these rumours and falsehood to put a stop to it before the law catches up with them.

Meanwhile, the Council said it would not hesitate to summon persons who had made unfounded statements that bothered on the security of the area to substantiate them or make them face the full rigours of the law.

The Council urged the peace loving people in Yendi to ignore these machination and deceit which were aimed at creating animosity and rancor among the people and assured them that nothing would be left to chance to ensure their safety.
