Adukrom, Oct 31, GNA-The Adukrom District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Reverend C.K Mensah, has appealed to the well-to-do to assist the needy because that was the mark of humility to God.
He said there were so many poor and needy people in the society that Christians in particular should not have any excuse to help them because “service to mankind was service to God”.
Reverend Mensah was preaching the sermon at the Bethel Presbyterian Church at Adukrom in the Akuapem North District on Sunday during the annual harvest and thanksgiving service of the Bethel congregation.
He said serving others and assisting those who were in need was a sign of humility to God and urged people to help others in need as Jesus did by washing the feet of his disciples adding, it showed a sign of humility.
Rev Mensah said humility and service should be the hallmark of all who professed to be Christians as Christ himself had shown the example for it was in giving and serving that one became great and fulfilled the great commission.
The harvest was in aid of a Manse for the District Pastor.
An amount of GHC 51,000 cedis was realized towards appeal for funds.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from Akuapem including the Member of Parliament for Okere, Mr Dan Kwaku Botwe, Mr A.A Akuoko former Director of the Computer Selection and Placement Programe (CSPP) of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and Mr Frank Mpare, a former secretary to Cabinet among others.
