The people of the northern region especially the youth have pledged their unwavering support for Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom's presidential bid come 2012 electioneering season. These young folks, made up of students from the Tertiary institutions and individuals who have expressed interest in volunteering for Dr. Nduom, have indicated that they are ready to work for Dr. Nduom and do everything within their capacity to rally solidly behind him, as far as his presidential ambition is concerned. They expressed worries about the manner in which the NPP/NDC continue to subject this Nation to extremely bad governance. They noted that there was the need to have a formidable alternative, which they believe will be the Dr. Nduom - led CPP. It is based on this premise that the Volunteers assured the Nduom Team that they are going to help recruit more people for the CPP, especially floating voters and first-time voters.
This was made known at a Workshop organised by the Youth for Nduom Team in Tamale on Friday, 28th October 2011. The essence of the workshop was to enlighten participants about the man Papa Kwesi Nduom, making attribution to his achievements in Private life and in Public service, and what he stands for. At the workshop, participants who were made up of some section of Dr. Nduom's Facebook Fans, Volunteers and Students from Tamale Polytechnic and University of Development Studies were also trained on the modalities to be employed to get more people into the Convention People's Party, thereby complimenting the efforts of Constituency and Regional executives. They were also encouraged to aspire to become agents of Positive change.
Meanwhile, the Youth for Nduom 2012 Team has been divided into two groups, which is the Northern and Southern Sectors. Their mission is to embark on a nationwide outreach programme to interact with Ghanaian voters particularly the youth. Members of the Nduom team who are responsible for the Northern Sector, begun their work on the 26th of October, 2011 by first touching base at Tamale in the Northern Region. The team disclosed that so far, responses from the general public has been overwhelmingly positive and it clearly supports the point that people of the Northern Region are prepared to push aside the NPP/NDC, which they consider failures.
The Team's work comes to an end in the region on Friday, 28th October, 20, where they will move on to the Upper East to continue with their work. They expect that also to be favourably positive.
