Effutu Assembly undertake more development project within two years

Winneba (C/R) Oct. 15, GNA - The Effutu Municipal Assembly hascompleted the debt payment of465,00.00 Ghana Cedisit inherited from the previous administration to some contractors who executed projects for the Assembly.

The projects included construction of classroom blocks with ancillary facilities, teachers' quarters, office complex and places of convenience.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Nii Ephraim made this knownat the second meeting of the Assembly in Winneba at the weekend.

He saidthe Assembly has completed 10 out of the 12 projects and handed them over to the beneficiary communities.

Nii Ephraimsaid two of the remaining two projects, being a two storey buildingto serve as residence for the MCE and athree-storey building office block complex have reachedadvance stages.

He saidthe Assembly has completed a number of development projects comprisingteachers' quarters, school blocks and roads andacquired two vehicles.

Touching on health the MCE said theCentral Regional Co-ordinating Council through Central Region Development Commission has awarded contract for the construction of one Ccommunity based Health Planning Services compound in the Municipality.

Nii Ephraim said the Assembly has to date been able to collect 252,708.00 Ghana Cedis as against a budgeted Internal Generation Fund of 338,169 Ghana cedis for the year, representing 74 per cent.

The houseapproved its rates and fee fixing resolution for 2012 after lengthy discussions andpassed a resolution for the purchase of motoricycles for the members.
