Alhaji S.M. Sibidow, a media consultant has cautioned Major Boakye Djan (rtd) to be very careful of the political path he is treading.

In his view, it will be illogical and out of reasoning for Major Boakye Djan to claim he is now an NDC member, more so, contesting on the party's ticket for the Jaman South Constituency, after his anti-Rawlings insults and comments.

Major Boakye Djan (rtd) has submitted his nomination forms to contest the Jaman South NDC parliamentary primaries. He also said his campaign strategy was to work to get President JEA Mills re-elected in the 2012 elections and himself elected to represent the people of Jaman South in Parliament.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Major Boakye Djan said “in order for me not to become a lame duck MP, I am going to work to get Mills back to the Castle and myself in Parliament”.

His decision to contest the seat on the ticket of the NDC had attracted mixed reactions from sections within the NDC and the general populace.

According to Alhaji Sibidow, how could Major Boakye Djan, who keeps making anti-Rawlings comments, now turn around to claim membership of the NDC.

He asked what at all did Major Boakye Djan want in a party which had former President JJ Rawlings as the sole founder.

He said few years back, Boakye Djan was condemning the NDC. Now, what has changed to make him want to work for the NDC.

He said in view of his anti- Rawlings stand, it stood illogical and he could not claim to be joining the NDC now without offering Ghanaians any rational explantation.

He wondered whether in the view of Major Boakye Djan, because Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, the wife of former President Rawlings contested and lost to President Mills, Rawlings and his wife were no longer relevant in the body politic of the NDC.

“That will be the mistake he Boakye Djan would be making in his life and judgement. What is his problem. What is he fighting for at his age,” Alhaji Sibidow enquired.

He should remember people such as Alhaji Issaka Inusah former Campaign Manager of the New Patriotic Party, who could not cope with the workings of the NDC and was compelled to resign from the NDC after a short stint with them.

I am also calling on him to consult the NDC constitution which requires aspirants to be a recognised member of the party at least for the past two years.

I am saying all these because he remains a friend and I think I owe him a public advice. He should be very careful so that he does not end like Alhaji Inusah.
