It is clear that many Ghanaians are unhappy with the infamous decision to terminate the appointment of Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng (KFB).

In the wake of the public outcry, the government issued a statement calling for a meeting between the striking Drs at the Cardio Centre and the President Mills. The statement issued by the government was cunningly crafted to suggest that President Mills was not aware of the planned dismissal of legend KFB.

However, the official statement after the 'intervention' by President Mills shows that he was fully aware of the planned dismissal but the Minister failed to draft the letter properly.

The President has since changed the 'immediate effect' aspect of the letter to 'one month notice'. He even made matters worse by suggesting that the position was ...“never intended to be a position for the preserve of any one person”. What has the man done or said to warrant such a provocative statement from the President? Instead of the President healing the pain of many of us, he just added salt to injury.

What the government has meted out to KFB is unfair, unjust and divisive. A better approach would have been to discuss his transition with him to prepare his mind as well as those individuals that he works with.

I even expected the President to have arranged a meeting with Frimpong-Boateng before making the one month ultimatum public. This would have possibly forestalled the error he made in his statement that Frimpong-Boateng is 62 years when he is in fact 61.

In effect, President Mills has not done anything different from the Minister. He has just made the Minister to look bad in the eyes of the public when he (the President) was fully aware of the decision.

All these notwithstanding, one thing will forever remain: Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng served Ghana selflessly. As a result, the centre will be named after him by another leader of Ghana (be it NDC or NPP) who rewards excellence and patriotism.

Where is the unity you promised us on 07 Jan 2009 Mr President? Your act will make the good acts of KFB to be shouted from the mountain tops. And his glory will be the shame of the Mills-Mahama administration forever.

It is sad that I don't trust my President anymore. You are not the person that I thought you were.

Sorry Prof Mills but TRUTH STANDS.
Long Live Frimpong Boateng
Short Live bad governance!!
Long Live All True Patriots
Long Live Ghana
