A GROUP calling itself 'Friends of President Atta Mills' (FPAM) based in the Volta region's Hohoe North constituency, has warned Alfred Agbesi Woyome to stop interfering in matters concerning the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the area.
Members of the group have also asked President Mills as well as his campaign and presidential protocol teams never to engage Mr. Woyome during any tour or visit to their constituency.
These were contained in a press statement issued by the group during a press conference at the Hohoe North NDC party office. The statement was read on behalf of the group by their leader, Paul Kofi Awumey.
According to the group, Mr. Woyome who contested the nationality of Kofi Adams, aide of the Rawlingses and that of Siki Abibu, the Deputy NDC Volta Regional Youth Organizer, is allegedly intimidating and harassing party members and causing a lot of confusion and disunity among NDC faithful in the constituency.
The group made up of die-hard NDC supporters in the constituency, condemned Mr. Woyome for allegedly attacking the Paramount Chief of the Gbi Traditional Area, Togbega Gabusu VI on Radio Gold, an fm station in Accra.
They also accused him of allegedly peddling false information to downplay the gross financial malfeasance committed by ousted MCE of the area, Victor Condobrey.
The statement also said that the one time Vice Consul of Austria to Ghana was allegedly building a house for President Mills at his (Woyome) wife's hometown, Gbi-Kpeme. It noted that because of this project, the district assembly is allegedly working on the road leading to the said house at the expense of other more important roads in the municipality.
They added that in recent times, a number of NDC constituency and branch executives have been arrested and granted bail with the Constituency Chairman, Wonder Boasilenu being invited and interrogated by police allegedly on the orders of Alfred Woyome and Volta Regional Minister, Joseph Amenowode.
The group claims that Woyome is not an NDC executive member and does not have a vote in the constituency. They alleged that since he has not been assigned to the constituency by either the regional or national party secretariat, he should stop poking his nose into matters involving their constituency.
'To us, he is just a self-glorifying busy individual,' the statement added.
