Ace radio presenter Akumaa Mama Zimbi last Wednesday supported Kofi Nana Poku, CEO of Best Shipping Limited, an international UK-Ghanaian-based shipping and Delivery Company, to stretch a hand of benevolence to needy children at the Osu Children's Home.
They donated a cash amount of GH¢3000 and items worth GH¢5000 to the children at the home. Among the items were 20 bags of rice, 5 bags of sugar, 20 liters of oil, 12 cartons of milk, and 300 pieces of bread. The rest of the items included 10 packs of toilet roll and 100 packs of sachet water. The donation was worth GH¢8000.
The donation was part of his activities to celebrate Africa Union Day last Wednesday and it was held with a short presentation ceremony at the premises of the orphanage. Akumaa, speaking on behalf Mr. Kofi Nana, entreated Ghanaians, especially those living outside the shores of Ghana, to emulate his kind gesture. She also advised Ghanaians who, when given items from outside to come and donate to needy children, rather decided to sell the items at Makola, to stop.
In another development, Akumaa Mama Zimbi is hopeful of making an impact at the maiden edition of the first ever Radio and Television Awards scheduled for June 25 at the State Banquet Hall.
She has been nominated for Radio Presenter of the Year- Developmental Issues category and she is competing with top notch radio personalities such as Afia Konadu of Peace FM , Ama Nyarko Atifa of Hello FM, Jacklin Otti Ampomaah of Angel FM , Dr. Asanka (J. Fofo Gaspa) of Goodnews FM and Pastor Oppong Ankomah of Sky FM .
