
President John Evans Atta Mills will from Tuesday, May 31, tour the Eastern Region as part of his nationwide visitations.
According to Mr. Julius Debrah, the Eastern Regional chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress, the three-day tour will take the president to places like the Regional House of Chiefs in Koforidua where he will interact with a cross section of the people and also commission a number of projects. Other places include Asesewa, Fanteakwa, Kwahu, the Afram Plains, Akyem and finally complete the run at Akyem Swedru.
The party chairman told Asempa FM's Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Monday that President Mills will be expected to commission a number of projects, including a new electricity sub-station and a dual-carriage by-pass in the regional capital to help deal with traffic. Another project expected to be commissioned is a steel bridge completed at Kyebi Adukrom.
He said Several school projects are also in line for commissioning, adding that the region was full of expectation and ready for the president's arrival.
President Mills has so toured the Upper East and West, Northern, Ashanti, BA and Western regions.
