The management and staff of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) University College (EPUC) have expressed gratitude to the government for responding to an appeal for the state to help provide a school bus for the institution to assist effective administration.

The President of the EPUC, Mr. Walter Blege, on behalf of the University Council, thanked the government at the first graduation ceremony of the university, for its efforts to support the EPUC by donating a 65-seater bus to the school, a development he said, was very timely, because it would go a long way to promote the activities of the educational institution.

Mr. Blege, who expressed satisfaction with the academic achievements of the EPUC, said the vision of the Church that led to the establishment of the university was highly appreciated by the people in the region, as most parents now encourage their wards to study at what he described as the premier university of the Volta Region.

Mr. Blege announced that the EP Church had been supporting the university since its inception, as the church's contribution had made the institution what it was now, and commended the Chancellor of the EPUC, the Very Rev. Dr. Livingstone Buama, who was the brain behind the establishment of the university at the time he was the Moderator, as he put his professional skills to the disposal of the university without remuneration.

He said the church was still doing everything possible to improve on infrastructure at the university, as a two storey building classroom project for the Ho Municipal campus was progressing, and that a hundred acre piece of land had been acquired in Ho to extend its infrastructure base, to allow for the admission of more students.

Mr. Blege lauded the contributions of groups and individuals who were supporting the university in diverse ways, and mentioned Mr. Kofi Kludjeson, who donated twenty-four computers to the computer laboratory of the university, and who also gave the assurance of connecting the laboratory to the internet.

The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Col. Cyril Neku (rtd), commended the EP Church for its contribution to national development, noting that the church was noted for its contributions to education, health and agriculture among others.

Touching on the bus donated by the government, Col. Neku gave the assurance that the government was committed to supporting education at all levels without discrimination, and said the donation of the 65-seater bus to the EPUC confirmed the government's in that direction.

The Council Chairman of the EPUC, Mr. Alex Ashiagbor, announced that the university was making conscious efforts to get accreditation for more courses relevant to the development needs of the nation, and commended the President and staff of the university for their hard work and commitment to duty, which had made the young university display high academic success during its first graduation.

A spokesperson for the graduates of the EPUC, Mr. Jonas Kwasiga, pledged on behalf of his colleagues to be good ambassadors of the university as pioneers, and disclosed that they had formed an alumina which would be supporting the university to grow.
