Dotobaa (B/A), March 18, GNA - Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Dotobaa in Nkoranza South District bagged GH¢1,350.00 at a fund-raising harvest at the week-end towards the construction of the party's office.

The members, numbering about 800, contributed GH¢2.00 each to support the project.

Mr Alex Kyeremeh, Techiman Municipal Chief Executive, who was guest of honour, commended the party members for the initiative and urged them to remain committed and loyal to the party.

He called on the members to avoid petty squabbles, gossiping and back-biting and forge ahead in unity so they could win more members to enable the party to win next year's general election.

The MCE advised the youth and "foot soldiers" of the party to exercise restraint as a number of programmes had been arranged towards their welfare.

In a joint speech, Nkoranza North District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor and Mr Kwadwo Agyekum, Nkoranza South DCE, commended the party members for their foresight in mobilizing resources towards the development of the party.

Such 'do it yourself spirit' shows your concern and love for the party, they said and called on members of the party in other communities to copy the shining example.

In a welcoming address, the local Secretary of the Party, Mr Karim Wiafe-Ababio, appealed to the Nkoranza South District Assembly to construct boreholes at Dagarti-line and Nkontankote at Dotobaa.

He also asked the DCE to liaise with the Department of Feeder Roads for the rehabilitation of the Bonsu-Dotobaa-Asonkwa feeder road, which was in a deplorable state.

Mr Thomas Baffoe-Ankomah, Nkoranza South Constituency Chairman of the NDC, who presided, stressed the need for the members to sustain their cooperative spirit and contribute effectively towards the party's success in the 2012 election.
