A new initiative meant to showcase Ghana's uniqueness as a favourite investment destination – Presenting Ghana – has been launched in Accra.

The initiative which is in the form of a report will provide comprehensive information for business owners

“It is an attempt to brand Ghana, drawing global investors, in particular, into a forum of information, which otherwise will not be available, with respect to policy and investment opportunity,” said Malcolm Ray, consultant to the project.

The Presenting Ghana project is an initiative of the Biz Media Limited, with support from Business & Financial Times, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Ministry of Information, the pan African monthly Business Times Magazine and the quarterly Energy Today Magazine.

“Broadly and increasingly, it will showcase Ghana's uniqueness in the West Africa region, as well as Africa, and globally as a country that has enjoyed relative stability in a turbulent region over the past 50 years, and with the current secure political and economic environment it is safer to forecast a stable and sound investment environment,” Ray said.

“The project, among other things, seeks to market Ghana's economic potential to the international community and boost the country's drive to attract foreign direct investment by positioning it as an attractive investment destination,” said Mrs. Edith Dankwa, Executive Director, Business and Financial Times.

She explained that the report, which will be distributed to a network of corporate institutions, potential global investors and selected conferences and seminars worldwide, also seeks to open Ghana's industrial sectors to business opportunities, while enhancing the country's image in the international community.

“Now that the world's attention is on Ghana for good reasons, we must take advantage to position the country as an investment hub and vibrant place to do business,” Mrs. Dankwa said.

Presenting Ghana will be packaged both in a hard cover leather protective casing, comprising an A4-size glossy booklet highlighting information on the respective sectors of Ghana's economy as well as a branded CD-ROM containing a digital version of the publication.

Mr. George Aboagye, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), noted that Ghana's GDP is forecast to register the highest growth in the world, this year, thereby making it a prime target for global investors.

“Presenting Ghana must highlight our democracy, human rights record, personal safety, the peace we enjoy in a turbulent neighbourhood and all the things that distinguish us as a progressive people and nation,” Aboagye said.
