The Government has assured aggrieved youth of Juapong of more job opportunities.

The youth took to the streets Monday to protest what they say is government's failure to secure them jobs at the Juapong Textiles Limited.

They accused the government of failing to fulfill its promise to revamp the factory to employ more workers.

But when Volta Regional Minister, Joseph Amenowode met the youth Monday, he assured them of the government's commitment to develop the factory to create jobs.

“Ever since this government came into office, we've been trying to find means of revitalizing the factory [and] some of them are aware of some of the moves,” said.

The minister said the government was not neglecting its duties “because it is in the interest of government to have it [the company] operating at full capacity to generate employment.”

While not giving dates, Mr Amenowode said the government was on track to revamp the factory.
