H.E. Mr. Yaw Konadu-Yiadom, Ghana's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium presented his Letters of Credence to King Albert II on Wednesday, 02 February 2011 at a very impressive ceremony at the Royal Laeken Castle. H.E. Mr. Yaw Konadu-Yiadom was accompanied to the ceremony by some senior officials of the Embassy of Ghana.
The discussions between King Albert II and H.E. Mr. Yaw Konadu-Yiadom focused on how the two countries could further enhance friendly relations as well as the growing business interaction between Belgian and Ghanaian entrepreneurs.
The evolving interests of Belgian entrepreneurs and investors in doing business in Ghana were attributed to Ghana's vibrant democratic dispensation, rule of law, favourable business and investment climate in the country and the recent discovery of oil in commercial quantities, among others. The need to further enhance socio-economic interaction between the two countries was underscored.
It may be recalled that the Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) embarked on an investment and Trade Mission to Ghana from 04 to 09 June 2010 and on 05 July 2010, Brussels Airlines launched its maiden flight to Ghana with four scheduled weekly flights to Accra. Since then, there has been a growing interest of Belgian entrepreneurs and investors in doing business with Ghana.
