Students conduct laboratory tests under trees

By Joy News/Ghana

Students of the Berekum Senior High School have been conducting science laboratory tests under trees.

This is because a project to build a science laboratory for the school is nowhere near completion – nine years after it started.

A Chemistry tutor at the school, Mr Isaac Kwame Ashitey, said an improvised laboratory was abandoned because it was inconveniencing to conduct experiments there.

“We can't hold practical lessons for even ten students in that improvised classroom so we had to go under the trees and carry out our practicals,” he added.

He said some of the practical works have to be postponed until the weather conditions are conducive.

The headmaster of the school appealed for support for the students.
