Former Chief Executive Officer for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Nana Akwasi Agyemang says he has confidence in the police in Kumasi, who have begun investigations into an allegation of brutality made against him.
The former KMA Boss is said to have subjected an 11-year-old Aaron Okyem of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Primary and Junior High School to detention amidst torture, accusing the little boy of molesting his 5-year-old son Nana Kwame, who attends the same school.
The “Daily Guide” Newspaper reported in its Monday edition that the longest serving KMA Chief Executive allegedly detained the JHS one pupil for almost four hours, in his house in Krofrom a suburb of Kumasi.
According to the publication, Nana Akwasi Agyemang reportedly made the 11-year-old sit in the rain and also allegedly pointed a gun at him.
However speaking on Adom Fm's Dwaso Nsem on Monday, Nana Akwasi Agyeman declined comments on the publication, saying “I've left everything with the police who are investigating the case. I have confidence that they will reveal the truth after their investigations”, he stated.
Nana Akwasi Agyemang, however, went ahead to read a portion of the paper's report on air which quoted him as saying “Nana Akwasi Agyeman had flatly denied the allegation in an interview, stressing that he was not 'mad' to detain a young boy in his house for allegedly beating his son”.
