A 64 year old grandmother Madam Elizabeth Daari, is in the grips of the Ashaiman Police for attempting to commit murder.

Madam Daari allegedly put the hands and feet of his 7-year old grandson, Joseph Yaw Aidoo, into boiling water for not coming home early when he went out to play with friends.

Chief Inspector Olivia Turkson, Tema regional police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the story and added that the parents of Joseph threatened to brutalize him should he expose his grandmother of the crime.

She said her outfit has subsequently apprehended the accused(Elizabeth Daari) and placed her in the Ashaiman police custody pending further investigations.

Meanwhile, Joseph(victim) is receiving medical attention at Tema Meridian Clinic Community one.

Chief Inspector Turkson said the laws of Ghana do not prohibit parents from disciplining their wards but hinted that his outfit will mercilessly deal with those who engage in meting out corporal punishment.
