The Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo has rebutted allegations that he was fleeing to the United States of America (USA) to save himself from humiliation, after he is reshuffled by the President.

'I am going to the United States not because I'm running away from humiliations of any alleged ministerial reshuffling, but for an important purpose, assuring all that he still remains focused to contribute to the better Ghana agenda', he stressed.

Mr. Nyamekye-Marfo told The Chronicle in reaction to allegations that he has been removed as regional Minister that he would be leaving the country for the U.S on Friday, October 1, 2010, for a programme and would return on October 15, 2010. He said that he was not running away as is being alleged by his detractors.

Mr. Nyamekye-Marfo alleged that some people within the NDC have ganged up to concoct such a story about him, just to disturb his focus on the 'Better Ghana Agenda.'

Mr. Nyamekye-Marfo noted that the orchestrators of the allegation have cleverly spun the lies about an alleged ministerial reshuffle to coincide with his trip to the USA.

According to him, no individual or group of persons can prevent him from embarking upon the trip to the USA 'Would I be the first and the only person to be sacked as a minister?', he questioned.

Mr. Nyamekye-Marfo declined to comment further, insisting that since he was still at post,  nothing would distract him from contributing to the realization of the Better Ghana Agenda.

The Brong-Ahafo regional Minister and some colleague ministers like Mr. E.T Mensah and Ms. Akua Sena Dansua are reportedly to be on their way out of government after an alleged imminent reshuffle.

The allegation further said the Brong-Ahafo regional Minister was alarmed by the news about the impending reshuffle which has made him resolve to escape to the U.S. with the wife.
