Bolgatanga, July 30, GNA - Mrs. Agnes Atagabe, the new Municipal Director of Education for Bolgatanga, has called on teachers to set good moral and ethical standards worthy of emulation by their pupils.
Mrs. Atagabe who was on tour on Friday of the ten Circuits in the Municipality advised teachers to eschew negative tendencies such as drunkenness, absenteeism, lateness to school and cutting periods which work adversely against quality education.
She said Heads of schools should ensure effective management and supervision of their schools to ensure teaching and learning.
"I will run an open administration and I hope that you would cooperate with me to improve the quality of education in the municipality".
She called for good effective supervision and a common standard examination for primary four to Junior High School to improve on the academic performance of pupils in the Municipality.
She said teachers who work hard obviously would be rewarded.
