Half Assini (W/R), July 30, GNA — The Half Assini district Magistrate's court on Thursday sentenced a 19-year-old unemployed man from Abandze in the Central Region to 24 months imprisonment in hard labour for stealing a 14-inch television set.
Evans Quansah, alias Kwasi Amissah, pleaded guilty to the three counts of unlawful entry, causing damage and stealing.
Prosecuting police Inspector K. K. Doe told the court that on July 28, Mr Michael Ackom locked up his doors and went to buy some items at a nearby store.
When he returned he found that his room had been broken into and his television stolen.
Mr Ackom later found the convict with the television behind the house and raised the alarm. He was arrested and handed over to the police.
