Saltpond (C/R), June 28, GNA - The Child Care International School at Cape Coast has supported the Children's Ward of the Saltpond Government Hospital with items valued at about GH¢ 500

The items, which were bought with voluntary contributions from the children and teachers of the school, included some quantities of rice, sugar, milo, key soap, milk and assorted fruits.

Mr Robert Tefe, Organizer of the School Missionary Team and Head of the Upper Primary Department, who led the delegation, said they were mindful about their social commitment to improve the conditions of the less fortunate.

"We are not only concerned with academic excellence but with also giving a holistic education to the children for them to feel for the needy," Mr Tefe said.

He said it was also their aim to train the children to know God and make others know God through the children.

The teacher said the School had made similar donations to children's Homes and Prisons.

Ms Mercy Antwi Boasiako, a Medical Assistant at the Hospital, who received the items on behalf of the Ward, expressed gratitude to the School for the gesture.

She appealed to others to emulate the gesture of the school by assisting health institutions.
