MP for Ayawaso Central, Sheik I.C. Quaye has declared Obetsebi Lamptey winner of the NPP chairmanship slot ahead of official declaration.
In an interview with Joy News' Evans Mensah, the MP in his typical electioneering chorus announced in Gaagbenaa which literally means it is finished.
Provisional results at the time indicated that Jake Obetsebi Lamptey had taken a commanding lead and IC Quaye believed there was no turning back for his 'brother'.
He said his support for Jake Obetsebi Lamptey should not be in doubt because the former national campaign manager was "more of a brother to him."
The Ayawaso Central MP in the heat of the conference was accused of 'buying' delegates in the Krowor constituency in Accra to vote for Jake Obetsebi Lamptey and a list of other preferred contestants, but he told Mensah, what had been written, had been written.
The enigmatic MP said with Jake's win, the NPP was on the threshold of moving, not to the Castle, but to the Jubilee House.
