The Airport Divisional Commander of the Motor Transport and Traffic Unit, MTTU, ASP R.K. Ampem, says thirteen cases of Motor accidents were recorded between 24th and 27th December this year. 

This involves Twenty-five vehicles.  In an interview with Radio Ghana, ASP Ampem, said out of the number nine persons sustained injuries, seven minor and two seriously. 

According to the Divisional Commander, the breakdown of the total number of accident recorded are eleven minor cases and, two serious ones.

There were however no fatal accidents. 
He disclosed that eight of the accidents occurred on the Liberation road, two on the Tema motor way, one on the motorway phase two and also on the Airport By pass and another one in the Airport Residential Area. 

Nine of these cases occurred at night and four during the day. 

He attributed the occurrence of these accidents to speeding and carelessness of drivers. ASP Ampem explained that accident vehicles need to be inspected by DVLA officials before being cleared. 

He advised road users to be cautious and pay attention to road traffic regulations.
