Bawjiase, Dec 21, GNA - Women Empowerment (WEF Ladies), a non-governmental organization, has donated food items to the Countryside Orphanage at Bawjiase.
The items worth 3,000 Ghana cedis included rice, confectionery, toiletries, cooking oil, and fruit drinks.
Mrs Elizabeth Amoako-Atta, Vice President of WEF Ladies, said it was members' widow's mite to bring smiles onto the faces of the children of the home.
Mrs Amoako-Atta urged public-spirited individuals and organizations to contribute their quota to improve the lives of the less privileged in society.
Mrs Joyce Acquaye, Secretary of the Fellowship, said it was the duty of the endowed and haves in society to have the welfare of the needy at heart.
Madam Emma Boafo-Yeboah, Mother of the Orphanage, received the items and thanked the Fellowship.
Members of Fruitful Leaders Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, also presented assorted items worth 3,000 Ghana Cedis to the Orphanage.
