Tamale, Dec. 16, GNA - Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus Society of the Tamale Diocese of the Catholic Church has feted and donated some food items to the Nyohini Children's Home in Tamale as part of the Christmas festivities.
The Society donated rice, cooking oil, used clothing, detergents and baby foods to the home.
Madam Elizabeth Quarshie, President of the Society, said the Society noted the plight and unfortunate situation of the children and was motivated to show love and care for them.
She urged the caretakers of the children to continue to take good care of them and impart in them the spirit of love and kindness.
Mrs. Beatrice Agyemang, Assistant Supervisor of the Home, said it was established in 1969 and has 28 children made up of 28 boys and 8 girls.
She said the Home was facing challenges in the areas of transportation, electricity supply and the delay in the release of government subvention and appealed to other organisations and individuals to help.
She also appealed to the Ghana Water and Sewerage Corporation to ensure regular water supply to the Home.
