ISLAMABAD, Dec. 15 (Xinhua/GNA) -- Unknown assailants torched two NATO tankers in southwest Pakistan's Balochistan province on Tuesday, local TV channel reported.
According to police sources, the tankers carrying fuel for NATO forces in Afghanistan were set ablaze on the outskirts of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, the private TV DAWN News reported.
Local police officer Jamil Kakar said police found no drivers and cleaners in both the tankers when they reached the spot. He added that the police were trying to locate the drivers.
The tankers were heading towards Chaman town near Afghanistan border.
Pakistan is the main supply route for the U.S.-led NATO forces in Afghanistan. Militants frequently attacked oil tankers and trucks bringing goods from the port city of Karachi to the forces battling Taliban.
