ALLOTEY JACOBS PISSES ON NPP, KUFUOR

…'8 year rule was reckless'
Mr Allotey Jacobs, a firebrand NDC Propaganda Secretary in the Central Region, has unequivocally stated that Ghanaians are suffering today because of the reckless manner the Kufuor-led NPP administration mis-ruled Ghana.

Mr Allotey Jacobs, who is gunning for the National Propaganda Secretary position of the NDC, explained that the NPP recklessly dissipated resources of the country to the extent that no one can point out any particular project that was successfully carried out by former President Kufuor and his government.

“You can't pinpoint one particular thing that the NPP did for mother Ghana. To me, if you ask me to analyze the NPP's eight years administration under ex-President Kufuor, I will tell you that it was real hell, recklessness, disrespect, arrogance, flamboyance,” he stated.

In an exclusive interview with TODAY , Mr Jacobs assessed the NPP as “a bunch of marauding political hooligans parading as academics and when we have such characters in our society, then you are bound to have an economy like a sinking ship in a British channel.”

He said the slow pace of implementation of the many campaign promises made by the Mills administration was because of how Kufuor and his 'bunch of hooligans' ruined the country, alluding to the fact that it was the current state of affairs that, for instance, the Mills government has not started with the rehabilitation of many destroyed government properties.

“You see, people are saying that President Mills promised during the 2008 elections to rehabilitate the Job 600 building and all that. It is a gradual process and believe you me, it shall be well soon”, Mr Jacobs stated.

He said Ghanaians can never be taken for granted adding that, that is why Professor Mills is not trumpeting what he has being doing so far, stressing that “when things become visible and people see development projects and money in their pockets that is when they would see the good thing in the current NDC administration.”

“I can say that after barely 11 months into the President Mills' administration, the NPP slogan of so far so good is nothing compared to the excellent feat chalked by the Mills administration,” Allotey Jacobs said, adding, “if they said so far, so good, we are saying so far, so excellent, is just insignificant, but we will say so far so excellent.”

He said President Mills “is one person who is very discreet” and although conceded that the President had been somewhat slow, he said it was because the President “consults a lot in order to do the right things and also not to repeat the mistakes of his predecessor.”

President John Evans Atta Mills and the NDC, the die-hard NDC strongman intimated, “are working very hard to alleviate poverty” and was of the firm conviction that “President Mills is committed to the cause of the ordinary people and will surely deliver.”

Touching on the 2010 budget, he disclosed that the budget clearly spelt out a better Ghana agenda. This is what Allotey Jacobs said about the budget: “What has gone into the 2010 budget is one of the best so far; I know politically, people will punch holes into it when they knew that it was for a good purpose. But the fact is that this budget will propel Ghana from its present state to a better Ghana.

He continued… “President Mills has been given a four-year mandate; we don't want to concentrate on buying T-shirts in 2012 that is not what we want. The mission and vision of Professor Mills is to alleviate poverty and the sufferings of Ghanaians.”

Mr Jacob asserted that the President was committed to making sure that the middle- income level man is well taken care of, stressing “I am telling you that he [referring to President Mills] has gathered all known intellectuals and astute business men in this country and it will interest you to know how they are performing; they are performing very well.

We have those sent outside the country to solicit for funds and we have those who have been given certain positions to help in the running of government and I bet you it shall be well soon,” he noted.

He said by the year 2012, President Mills would not need an endorsement again from people around him, but it is Ghanaians who will say that “let us give this man another term since he has performed.”
