VODAFONE GHANA on Monday officially opened its maiden internet café at the Cantonments Exchange in Accra to serve the teeming internet users.
Selorm Fiador, the Head of Retail Sales at Vodafone Ghana, in an interview with City & Business Guide, said the facility was one out of 10 which are to be established across the country this year.
“All the facilities will have WiFi Hotspot. The internet café has the fastest speed in Ghana and Africa with over 40 megabytes per second (Mbps) officially and in testing that is close to 100 Mbps,” he added.
“By close of this year, Vodafone Ghana will replicate the facility in the other regions of the country, she stated, explaining that the café, together with its WiFi area, can seat about 100 customers at a time.
It also has a gaming session with top of the line graphic card and multimedia kits.
Apart from the speed, the café can boast of a relaxing and cozy atmosphere that is ideal for students and academics who will like to conduct research and follow up with their business partners.
The facility, Ms Fiador added, allows employees to access work related information and submit information required by government departments, while students and parents can also seek information on examination results and admission procedures.
She explained that young people seeking employment could also browse various websites of companies, noting, “Our cafes seek to provide customers with a premium and world-class internet experience through the delivery of reliable, fast, high speed and 'always on' broadband internet access.”
