Barclays celebrates "Make A Difference" Day with school children

Tema, Nov. 22, GNA - Staff of the Tema Fishing Harbour branch of Barclays Bank on

Saturday presented books, stationery, and cleaning items worth GH¢1,000 to the Christian

Divine School Complex at Tema New Town.
Mrs Henrietta Duho, Branch Manager, who made the presentation, said it formed part of

activities to mark this year's "Make A Difference" (MAD) day of the bank.

The Day creates opportunity for staff of the bank to establish contacts with people in the

communities in which they serve.
Mrs Duho hoped the school's library would be stocked with the books, and advised the

pupils to cultivate the habit of reading.
Mr Ben Larbi Menns, Headmaster of the School, who received the items, thanked the

bank for the gesture and gave the assurance that they would be put to good use.

Mrs Duho and Mr Rockson Afetsrom, Branch Operations Manager later took the

children through career development, guidance and counselling, and advised them to take

their studies seriously.
The bank officials later joined the staff and pupils of the school in a clean-up exercise to

promote a healthy environment.
At the Tema main branch of the bank at Community "1", officials marked the day with

presentation of working tools worth GH¢3,000 to the Padmore Electoral Area and later also

joined the people for a clean-up exercise.
The tools included 20 pairs of Wellington Boots, 30 shovels,

12 pick axes, 30 rakes and 600 nose masks.
The rest were 50 brooms, 30 ceiling brushes, 50 industrial hand gloves and 15 wheel

barrows.
Mr Andy Senyah, Area Manager, presented the items to Mr Asoma Mohammed,

Assemblyman for the area on behalf of the electorate.

Mr Hudson Emmanuel Opoku-Mensah, Retail Manager of the bank, was of the hope that

the donation would help ginger the people to undertake regular clean-up exercises to improve

sanitation in the electoral area.
