Winneba (C/R), Nov. 18, GNA - The Dean of Student Affairs of the University of Education, Winneba Dr. Ernest Awanta has called on the various political parties to form special disease control task force to whip up the HIV/AIDS awareness campaign.
Dr. Awanta who made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Winneba expressed concern about the spread of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the country.
He said the situation called for concerted efforts to combat and underscored the need for parents and guardians to educate their children to abstain from pre-marital sex.
He asked musicians to compose songs that could transform the nation morally and spiritually to help create awareness about the pandemic.
Dr. Awanta said the rise in immoral acts had resulted in the fast spreading of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
He challenged the academic institutions especially teachers and students to be innovative and spiritually oriented to arrest the decline of the country's cultural values.
