NEW: Ghana Tourist Villas offers an unforgettable holiday and business experience in Accra.
Juaben, (Ash), Nov 04, GNA - The Asante-Juaben Government Hospital has, through its own internally generated funds, built a mortuary at a cost of GH¢150,000.
The 100-capacity modern facility would serve the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality and nearby Sekyere-Afram Plains District, Sekyere East, and Asante-Akim North Municipality.
Dr Prosper Gbegko, Medical Officer in-charge of the Hospital, said it would save people in those areas the trouble of traveling to Kumasi to find places to keep the bodies of dead relatives.
Ms Abena Konadu Yiadom, Ejisu-Juaben Deputy Municipal Coordinating Director, commended the Hospital authorities for the initiative and gave the assurance that the assembly would support them to deliver quality health care to the people.
It would do all it could to ensure that the working environment was made comfortable for the health personnel, she said.
Ms Yiadom appealed to the Hospital to maintain the facility to increase its life span.
