The Ministry of food and Agriculture in collaboration with INFOCUS PR has officially launched the maiden national food and agric show in Accra.
The agric show is to engage stakeholders in the agricultural sector in productive dialogue, networking and above all present farmers and manufactures with a platform to market their goods.
Speaking at the launch of the show, Acting Director of Extension Service at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Kwame Ameza said the agricultural sector had contributed significantly to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of many developed nations even though it had been neglected.
The Acting Director noted that there must be a collaborative effort between government, industry players and the private sector, noting, “If Ghana can achieve the Millennium Development Goal on poverty eradication, there is the need for a concerned effort between the government, industry players and the private sector,” he said.
He also urged stakeholders in the agric sector to take advantage of the immense exposure and network opportunities at the food and agric show since “it would be a great opportunity to dialogue with other stakeholders for the advancement of their businesses.”
“I encourage all farmers and agricultural organisations to take an active part in seminars and other programmes outlined for the fair. It would be a great opportunity to dialogue with stake holders for the advancement of their businesses,” he added.
