Latest radio station to hit the airwaves in the Ashanti Region Anigye FM, 102.5 will be officially launched in Kumasi on Thursday October 29, 2009 with a full line-up of interesting programmes. The station, which has been running on test transmissions for the past three months, has already endeared itself to the hearts of many listeners, especially the youth.
Anigye FM is the latest radio station making waves in the Garden City of Kumasi. The radio station is the newest broadcasting facility to be introduced by Global Media Alliance adding to Y FM, Happy FM and e.tv Ghana.
The station is noted for their devotion to playing quality music to the delight of their listeners. Their music is selected from a rich and varied library including high-life, hip-pop, raga, reggae, R&B, pop, lovers rock, soul and other contemporary African and international genres.
With such an encouraging appeal, listeners cannot wait for Anigye to start full-throttle programming.
“This is what Kumasi has been looking forward to and we are very excited to have been finally offered a radio with such superior quality” said an avid listener.
Thursday's launch will be held at the Georgia Hotel in Kumasi. This will be followed by a massive float through the principal streets of Bantama, a suburb of the city where enthusiastic fans will have the opportunity to interact with the dynamic staff and presenters of Anigye. This is to be followed by a frenzied Street Jams, also at Bantama.
“We want to meet our cherished audiences and get to know them. This is a great opportunity to solicit ideas from them directly as to what they would want to have on the fresh menu. We are here to serve them and so our objective is to give them exactly what they desire” said Mr. Franklin Nuamah, MD of Anigye FM.
Thus Anigye FM has come to the terrain with a difference offering more music (75%) and less talk (25%). The metropolitan hit radio will also be running other interesting programmes including Sports, local and international news as well as community-related programmes. Moreover, Anigye listeners will also be treated to some live feed to be drawn from Happy FM 98.9, a sister station in Accra.
