Bolgatanga, Oct. 21, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) party delegates to the forthcoming constituency and regional congresses have been advised to vote for people who are capable of re-energizing and reinvigorating the party to victory in the 2012 elections.

Mr. Richard Adua, Upper East Regional first Vice Chairman of NDC said: delegates should not allow money to influence their choice, but use the competencies and capabilities of the prospective candidates as a yardstick in determining who would lead the NDC.

Giving the advice in a press release in Bolgatanga, he cautioned the delegates not to vote for gullible people who would be used as political pawns.

He asked the delegates to show love for NDC and be wary of people who were being influenced by certain political authorities and manipulated to satisfy individual interest at the expense of the party.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party had earlier directed that all the 13 constituencies in the region hold their constituency congresses within the month of October 2009 to elect new executives, before the regional and national congresses that would be held by the end of the year.

Mr Adua said the party needed new executives who would introduce new ideas, strategies and the vigour that would enable the party to regain power in 2012.

He therefore called on the old executive to give other people the chance to take over, saying that he would not contest for any executive position anymore.

He refuted allegations that he had written a petition against some political authorities in the region, saying; "I state unequivocally that I have never written any petition against anybody and entreat those people to desist from such malicious lies".

Mr Adua called on all NDC supporters to unite and rally behind President John Atta Mills to enable him to successfully steer the affairs of the country.
